      Full-time Assistant Manager Interview

      Aug 24, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Gainesville, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Charming Charlie (Gainesville, FL) in Sep 2014

      Interview

The interview process was very straightforward. I applied online and received a call the next day to set up an interview with the store manager. After nailing that interview, I received another call the next day to set up an interview with the DM, who was very friendly and kind. Overall the process was fun and it felt more like a get to know me and see if I was a great fit for the company, rather than a million questions.

      Full Time Assistant Manager Interview

      Aug 8, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Charming Charlie in Jul 2015

      Interview

Required 3 interviews before a hiring decision was made. The GSM told me on my very first interview that the starting pay for the position was $15.00/hour (which being a retail manager myself I know you should never ever talk salary unless you are about to hire someone) but I could potentially make more because of my previous experience in management. I decided to pursue the job anyway and went through 2 more interviews, one with a different GSM and another with their District Manager that were almost identical to one another in terms of the questions asked. After my final interview I was called by the GSM who interviewe'd me in the first place and was offered a job at $13.00/hour. When I asked why I was told the position starts at $15.00/hour and now they are offering me way lower, she got choked up and said "their volume has decreased so that's the best she could do". Volume just doesn't decrease that badly in 2 weeks, I'm not stupid.

Why do you want to pursue a career at Charming Charlie rather than the conpany that you're currently with?

      Full Time Assistant Manager Interview

      Sep 5, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Savannah, GA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Charming Charlie (Savannah, GA) in Nov 2014

      Interview

DM was recruiting heavily due to need. Came into my store where I was temp. working as an associate, and my ASM informed me as she knew I was looking to go back to full time management. Went in and dropped off my business card, as I knew they were looking for management. Was immediately called for an interview the next day. First interview was with Sr. ASM and DM. Sr. ASM had a ton of retail exp., her questions were pointed and real. Second interview with store GM. Very generic. Questions designed for easy, specific answers. Felt a little out of date; felt like an interview for an associate and not a manager. Called for offer the next day. I negotiated for a higher rate, due to my experience level. Received the offer the next day, and accepted. Overall the experience was easy, and the people easy to talk to. I enjoyed my time there, only leaving due to relocation.
