Interview
After passing the first stage (10–15-minute phone call with the Talent Recruiter), I had a video call with the directors. There was definitely some miscommunication between the HR team that posted the ad and the directors, because the role required an extensive amount of technical knowledge, yet the ad focused primarily on clinical knowledge and data segmentation accuracy. The posting mentioned working WITH ML Engineers and Scientists, not AS them; even the educational requirements did not mention needing a computer science, data science, or machine learning degree/diploma. The interviewers were not overtly rude, but there were undertones of sarcasm and slightly patronizing statements when I was unable to answer the technical questions. At no point did anyone ask me “tell me about yourself”, “walk me through your resume” or tried to get to know me as a person; they went straight into behavioural and technical questions about what I can do for the company. Around the end, their demeanour seemed indifferent towards me and the interview in general.
