Ciresi and Morek lack professionalism and knowledge of applicable employment law. My interview was not conducted by California employment laws, particularly regarding the prohibition of salary history inquiries. Ciresi and Morek were clueless about the applicable laws.
During the interview, I was asked about my salary history, violating California law. When I hesitated to answer, I was informed that failure to comply would result in my application not being considered further. Under significant pressure, I reluctantly and conservatively provided the requested information. When we spoke, the interviewer refused to give the range as required in California for of the position and merely pushed back with the salary history question.
Furthermore, as of this writing, I have noticed they are still not complying with the California-mandated posting requirements.
When I brought up these compliance issues as a learning moment, my application was immediately declined, which I believe was an act of retaliation. We discussed the required background, but they stated that I did not have it to circumvent the issue.
