The process started out great. I had a call with a recruiter and had a good conversation with them about the company and my career goals. The position I applied to indicated you should have experience with healthcare data, and I had adjacent experience. I brought this up in our conversation to make sure I'd still be considered and the recruiter assured me it was fine, but that they'd check. Additionally, they thought my skillset would be strong for another team and asked if I'd be interested, which I was.
A few days later I was contacted to set up an interview with the manager for the position I applied to. The interview did not go well. It started by the manager asking me to tell them about myself so I dove into my experience and career goals. After hearing my experience they noted I didn't have specific experience with regulatory healthcare data and that would be a non-starter. This was discouraging given my conversation with the recruiter, but no matter, the other team didn't need this specific experience.
I then had a meeting scheduled with the other hiring manager who did not show up to the call.
Overall I saw consistency and transparency issues throughout the interview process and decided to withdraw my application. The company did not instill confidence that I would be set up for success if I decided to take a role with them.
