      Proactive Support Engineer Interview

      Mar 18, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Budapest
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Cloudera (Budapest) in Mar 2018

      Interview

      - Casual process, very informal, but really selective. They do not want to make a bad choice for the position. - Friendly people from HR to the manager or the future colleague, all seem to be wonderful people. - 3 interviews over the phone or video and then a face to face interview in Budapest (4 hours interview with different people). The company seems to be amazing but I had to stop the process before the onsite interview in Budapest for private reasons unfortunately.

      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cloudera (Austin, TX) in Apr 2017

      Interview

2-3 Phone calls with recruiters, about 30mins to an hour each then an onsite 3 1/2hour interview. With team leads and a "tech guy" who had absolutely no interest in speaking to me, pretty much knew it was over then. All the other people I met with in management/team members were awesome, and the recruiters were top notch.

Run through the following list of commands with a customer that knows nothing about linux, and explain each one and why you are running them.

      Proactive Support Engineer Interview

      Dec 10, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Cloudera (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Process was slow, but, went without a hitch. Interviews were pleasant. I was also flown out to the main office for an all-day interview with a panel of employees. I waited over a week and half for the results but was suddenly told over a brief email from the Technical Sourcer that the company decided to move the headcount to another department without them knowing. I was pretty stunned to say the least, especially that deep in the process...
