      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Compass (New York, NY) in Feb 2018

      Interview

The interview process for the AgentOps role was three parts and took about two weeks total. The first step was a phone interview. Mine was with Keith Meyers who was super easy to talk to and made me feel at ease. At the end of the phone call he told me I was moving to the next round which was a virtual interview (through HireVue) and I should receive an email within 24 hours. After receiving the email to take the virtual interview I had 24 hours to complete, on my own time. The virtual interview had 6 questions that were pre-recorded and gave you a minute or two to prepare, 30 seconds once you press start, and then two minutes to record your answer. These were situational questions. I heard back four days after submitting my virtual interview about an in-person interview at HQ three days later. I interviewed with two people at HQ and the interview lasted one hour. I received a call from Keith the following day offering me the job!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Q: Pick an action, anything you want (could be as simple as cooking pasta), and describe the steps to taking that action. Q: Even within an environment that revolves around teams/teamwork, how are you able to act autonomously? What motivates you?
      Answer question
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Compass (Beverly Hills, CA) in Jul 2018

      Interview

Answered interview questions while being video recorded in beginning of June. Heard from the recruiter almost a month later. Had a 30min conversation with him before he pushed me through to the next round of interviews at their Beverly Hills office. Met with 3 employees all separately. The 1st and 3rd interviewers asked me the exact same questions which made the process feel robotic however I answered and received positive feedback to my responses including "I would have handled it the same way!" The 2nd interviewer was newer to the company and asked me about my personal life, including my age... which is illegal... After an hour and a half, I completed my interviews and was left in the office with no further instructions as the interviewers stepped into a meeting so I grabbed who I could in the office to ask if I should stick around or head home. I sat in their meeting room for another 5 minutes before she sent me home. Oh and the parking situation? I had to pay $20 because it's all 1hr meter parking otherwise and I would have gone over that. Received a generic email a week and a half later saying they were passing and though I asked for feedback as I felt the conversation/interviews went well and would appreciate any takeaways, they never responded to me.

      Question 1

You're about to lead an agent on-boarding training when one of your agents needs something ASAP to close a $4M deal. At the same time, your top agent emails you saying she needs info for her customer newsletter right away. Who would you prioritize and how would you handle the situation?

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Compass

      Interview

I had a positive interview process. Most of the interviews were either over the phone or via video conference (which can sometimes lead to delays/technical issues) but every person I spoke with was very impressive. The recruiting team was very helpful in getting my interviews set up and answering any other questions I had.

      Interview

I was made aware of the whole process from my first interaction with the recruiter. It was straightforward, moved quickly, and I was always kept in the loop. There was an initial phone screen, followed by a video presentation, followed by an in-person interview day (immediate manager and his Nat'l Manager), followed by an in-person interview with Regional SVP and video call with People & Culture manager.
