Interview
I was ghosted after the second interview. The CEO seemed very uninterested in the interview. The first interview with the head of HR was great. It was odd to never hear back from them even if it was a rejection.

Question 1
My background. Why I was in the industry I was in?
*This company has two Glassdoor profiles, so I'm adding this review again in hopes they will see it and hopefully make the changes needed to implement a more successful recruiting process.
The first call took place with an employee who said he was covering the HR function with another employee. When he joined the call he didn't seem to be in a great mood and was very monotone. He did set the tone for our conversation, letting me know what the purpose of the call was and what the process might look like (they were still deciding). It was clear from the two questions asked that he had no clue what the role was or what they were really hiring for. My own questions were met with shrugs and "I don't know." It wasn't clear who the role would ultimately report to, what the salary was (when I provided a range he said, "Yeah, that seems right"). It's a bummer because I was so excited about the company and the opportunity. But I knew when the call ended that his inexperience and the company's lack of clarity and planning would likely prevent a next round. It's hard to know what a top tier candidate looks like when you don't even know what you're looking for. Sadly this company has a lot of work to do on the hiring front - work that candidates like me would jump at the opportunity to work on - which will likely never get done or land in the hands of someone who isn't really qualified.
