I went through lengthy interview process at Corient and want to share my experience for other candidates. Some interviewers were friendly, but the overall process was slow and disorganized. I had to constantly follow up for updates, a lack of communication that, I later noticed, is a pattern described in many former employee reviews on here. The interview questions had "rad flags", where multiple people asked and focused on handling management miscommunication and dealing with difficult personalities, which in hindsight felt less like behavioral screening and more like a warning of what was to come. The process reached its conclusion in a way I did not expect, meaning, extremely unprofessional. After going through every stage and receiving positive response, the opportunity was suddenly no longer available, and the timing was questionable given the circumstances leading up to it. I'd encourage candidates to pay close attention to how a company communicates and makes decisions during the hiring process. It is often a reflection of the culture you'd be stepping into."

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Corient (Austin, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interview went well with medium level of difficulty. The interview is a new hiring manager and the questions appear to be all over the place and having a lack of understanding of the position requirements.
Anyone considering a job here should read this before applying, and proceed with caution.
I went through an interview process that spanned six rounds, during which compensation expectations were clearly discussed and confirmed multiple times, both verbally and in writing. Urgency around start date and relocation was emphasized as a condition of the role.
At offer stage, I was told I had the position, but the compensation presented was materially lower than what had been represented (approximately $50K less in total), with no explanation or attempt to recalibrate. When the discrepancy was raised immediately, communication went radio silent rather than the process being closed out professionally, despite their awareness that I was actively making arrangements to relocate on an accelerated timeline.
Candidates should be aware that early compensation alignment may not be honored through offer, and that the firm appears comfortable advancing candidates deep into the process only to materially revise terms at the end, a textbook bait-and-switch approach.
