I applied online. I interviewed at Craft Gin Club (London, England)
Interview
The process started with an initial phone interview, followed by a more in-depth in person interview with two members of staff who I would be working with and a presentation on ideas for potential content and a magazine structure.

I applied online. I interviewed at Craft Gin Club (London, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
The initial interview with the HR manager was excellent, covered the bases of the job ad and was easy to establish a rapport.
The next stage interview was with the line manager who didn't seem interested at all. He began the interview with "I'll speak then you can speak" and proceeded to describe the the team reporting into him, then described the job covered in the job ad and stated it was not being hired for, and interviewed me for a completely different role. He asked a total of three questions, then said he wasn't actually sure which elements of the role he would keep and which he would hand to the new hire, immediately undermining the job ad and initial interview and establishing uncertainty. He also said the HR manager was on leave for two weeks but would have someone get back to me by Monday (interview was Friday). This didn't happen. Ultimately the line manager seemed unsure of the role he was hiring for, didn't seem interested in the interview and the job advertised did not match. The theory of the role was exciting but reality was a disappointment.
