I applied through other source. I interviewed at Crake Asset Management (London, England)
Interview
Interviewed in 2023. The process was an in person chat and more technical data analysis case study followed by q&a. About 30 mins total. Went through CV and general motivations, followed by the case study
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Crake Asset Management (London, England) in Nov 2020
Interview
The interviewer was dressed in tracksuit shorts and a pink t shirt. Surprisingly, he didn't introduce himself and didn't ask me to introduce myself. He said we'd do a case study and asked me to look at some information for a few minutes. In the meantime, he just left the room.
When he returned, he asked several technical questions based on the information. Then he asked if I had any questions. I asked about the structure of the team, and I also asked about how his position fitted in with the investment team, to which he replied, 'That isn't really applicable to your role'. I was quite taken aback by his abruptness, so the interview ended there.
I never heard back from Crake, but I know that if my impression - the unashamed arrogance, coldness and worrying lack of transparency - is representative of the environment at the hedge fund (which it might not be), it is certainly not a place I'd like to work, and I'd discourage others as well.

Interview
They seemed a bit unprepared but the actual interview was decent. Didn't pass but wouldn't fault them, or myself since it was not my area of expertise. Recommend to read into exactly what they invest in and prepare for that. Not sure about salary etc.
