I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (Paris) in May 2024
Interview
Very basic and standard process: HR screening, Hiring manager call, mock call and final step.
If the whole process was smooth and fast, the last step was an enigma: 15 mintes chat with Head of .. (sales ?) based somewhere very far from my own location. The person did not listen to any of my answers, took the video call half layed down on the couch, welcoming friends at a gathering which was taking place in her living room. Disrespectfull, no relevant questions.
Did not received any feedback after completing the full interview process (4 steps including home preparation).
During the interview, I was asked to identify my areas for improvement and confirm my status as a high performer. Additionally, I was asked which two tools I would choose to utilize in my role.
Overall, the product appears sound; however, I identified several red flags during the process which I want to share:
Ramp-up Concerns: The ramp-up period offers guaranteed pay for the first month, followed by a 33% target in the second month and 66% in the third. This is concerning given the sales cycles exceeds three months, which has been mentioned.
Commission Structure: Accelerators do not kick in until the quota is achieved across all "buckets."
Pricing Friction: Selling hardware is reportedly challenging due to the significant price premium of Deel IT compared to standard market vendors. This pricing gap becomes even more complex when dealing with larger volumes for enterprise.
SMB Account Executive INTERVIEW Respectfull process , nice recruiter, two interviews. Didnt receive an offer .
The hiring manager mentioned that i lack of expereince with c- levels . Not sure what he meant ..
I met with a recruiter and with very standard line of questioning. Some of the questions were very vague about how I go about process management, relationships, etc. when I asked for specifics, it wasn’t thoroughly explained. Pretty low base compensation compared to their competitors and current market rate as someone with senior level experience.
