I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview followed by an invitation to come to the Ann Arbor campus for a one hour face-to-face interview with three of the department directors. Prior to the interview, the recruiter emailed me and stated one of the directors would be on vacation, she stated the interview will just be with two of the directors. Once I arrived, only one of the directors showed up for the interview, he seemed uninterested in interviewing me and spent most of the interview on his phone texting the no show director and talking about a presentation he had to give after my interview was over. Within a few days I was contacted by the recruiter and asked to come back to the Ann Arbor campus to meet with the department VP, prior to the interview the VP asked me who I had already met with in the interview process, after the interview concluded she asked me to come back for a third visit to meet with the two directors who were no shows from my first visit and to also meet with the current assistant to spend some time to better understand the role. I came back for a third visit and was interviewed by the current admin whereas I understood this would be a getting acquainted with the role session ( her questions were irrelevant to the position) followed by an one hour meeting with the two directors. I was very frustrated that everyone involved in this process could not be respectful of my time, I took three unpaid days off of work from my current job for these interviews in addition to the stress of preparing. Everything could have been accomplished in one visit, I am sure the other candidates did not have to spend 3 days interviewing. In the end the recruiter called me to say they went with a candidate that had food experience. This entire process left a really bad taste in my mouth about this corporation and their hiring processes.
