      Interview

I want to share my experience with DoorDash interview process to help you all make informed decisions. Unfortunately, it was disappointing and poorly managed. Here’s what happened: Take-Home Case: The process began with a 48-hour take-home case. While the recruiter assured me the timeline was very flexible and even give me extra time if i can't finish it on time, this level of flexibility felt unusual—almost as if the company wasn’t serious about the process. In hindsight, they weren’t. The case and the dataset provided truly didn’t make sense. It feels like it was designed more to create the appearance of an "official" interview case rather than genuinely testing candidates' skills. On Fishbowl, many have shared similar experiences, stating that DD is known for sending out fake cases and low-quality datasets to obtain free due diligence work from candidates. Next Round Interviews: After being shortlisted, I moved on to two 30-minute interviews with a director and a manager. The director didn’t show up for the scheduled interview, and the manager asked repetitive questions—essentially the same ones from the initial HR screening call. Moreover, the manager seemed very impatient and disinterested. I had to reschedule the call with the director, and despite offering several time slots within the next three days, HR delayed it by 10 days without explanation. My email to confirm this schedule went unanswered. When the call finally took place, the director was late by 10 minutes, and although the discussion went well (she even complimented my slides), she cut the call short before our allotted time ended. Final Outcome: Two days later, I received a generic rejection email stating it was against company policy to provide feedback. This lack of professionalism and communication was disheartening. Key Takeaway: The process requires significant effort: an initial HR screening call, a 48-hour case, and up to eight interviews, each lasting 30 minutes. Yet, the questions are predominantly behavioral, and the entire process feels unstructured and disorganized. Not to brag, but me and my friends we both have very strong academic and professional backgrounds. They have had similar experiences, and one of their recruiters even quit midway through the hiring process. My advice: Don’t waste your time. Company like this doesn't deserve talents like you.
