      Business Associate Rotation Interview

      Dec 7, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Dropbox

      Interview

Interactions with recruiters was very good overall. They were responsive to questions, but clearly extremely busy with hiring and recruiting, so some responses took longer than others. The first round interview was relaxed and very conversational. My interviewer was happy to answer questions and talk about his own experience as much as learning about me. I talked about what I did at school and answered questions about my resume. The interviewer clearly wanted to to take the lead in the conversation. Dropbox places very high value on cultural fit at every step of the process. Anyone they interview will likely be smart, relatively interesting on paper, and have leadership experience, so It'll be important to talk about your hobbies, special interests, quirks, or whatever "x-factor" you think you have to make you stand out. Even if they don't ask a question that's directly related to it, don't leave the interview without that talking point.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

You have to close 10 deals in the next quarter or else the company will go under. You've been working here for 3 years, so you have access to data. What do you do? What's the most difficult thing you've ever done? Why do you want to work in a client-facing role?

      I interviewed at Dropbox

      Interview

Quick 10 minute phone call that seemed to simply judge if you have basic social skills and knew anything about the company. My interviewer also asked me what I saw as the best way for dropbox to grow/improve at the time. The follow up interview lasted about an hour and took place over the phone. We went through all the decisions that compose my resume and discussed some theoretical stuff about Dropbox's future.

Name 5 ways you would sell Dropbox to someone and the metrics you would use to measure the success in each of these ways

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2013

      Interview

I sent in my resume and received an email expressing interest about two weeks later. The email included a link to a challenge with six or seven "challenge" questions. Most were pretty run-of-the-mill, but one was about Dropbox's future potential. Do some research, read some interviews, and you should be fine. Received phone interview invitation less than a week later. Interview was an hour and pretty standard. Ditto next call. And the one afterwards.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Sound typical brain busters, like: "Estimate how many people have signed up for Dropbox. Explain your thinking."
