The company is very professional, operating with clear rules and clear communication. I was consistently in touch with the recruiter, who provided updates on each stage of the hiring process, making the experience transparent and reassuring from start to finish.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dropbox in Nov 2020

      Interview

I applied online and received an email from the internal recruiter to book in a virtual meeting. The internal recruiter was warm and welcoming. The recruiter asked general questions and was good at listening and acknowledging my achievements. The only downside was towards the end of the interview when I asked the usual “what’s the recruitment process?”..... I was met with an 8 STAGE interview process which included an informal conversation with the hiring manager, then a formal convo. Then an informal convo with his manager. Then a formal convo. Then another formal interview with someone else. Then a panel preso... then another... and another. What on earth guys? How is an informal interview any different to a formal interview? You’re assessing people regardless of the format. Google, Uber and Airbnb have less stringent interview processes - and Dropbox isn’t quite there yet. Respect candidates times and be realistic about your hiring process. It doesn’t make sense at all. Informal meetings and formal meetings get you the same outcome which is “do I want to work with this person?” Cut out the double up on stages and you’ll save yourself time, recruit quicker and get better quality candidates. I had to pull out because I felt like the recruitment process was a reflection of other internal processes which might be cumbersome and not sensible.
