I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at EDF (Cheltenham, England) in Feb 2013
Interview
Applying will get you a telephone interview, which is a short discussion which will extrapolate on your application.
Assessment centres involve a 2 day process. Starts with 3 group exercises focusing on your abilities to communicate effectively with a group, moving on to a mathematical ability test. Then dinner enables "networking" with current graduates.
The next day starts with being told if you were to be interviewed or not. If you reach the interview, this is minor technical focus, and mostly is dressed formal, with an informal feel to the discussion.
It only took 5 days after this to be offered a job, so things move quickly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Was asked to complete deflection, bending moment and shear force diagrams for a portal frame. This was for civil engineering, and is apparently not typical of all interviews.
Workshop all day online event over teams. Online with 20 other candidates. Whole team very friendly and we took several breaks throughout the day. Recieved feedback very soon after over the phone

Team workshop questions - create a mini presentation
Gamified online assessment. It was fast paced and challenging, not very forgiving of mistakes, but overall it was manageable and even fun.
Practice questions can be found online, while not the same most of the time it can come pretty close.
You can also find youtubers who go through similar questions and walk you through how to approach each type of game and maximise your chances of achieving a high score.
