I recently went through the interview process for the Senior Security Software Engineer position at EarnIn. Although I appreciated the initial stages of the process, I am compelled to share my experience, including the lack of feedback and follow-up after being rejected. The initial contact with the recruiter at EarnIn was positive. They responded promptly to my application and showed enthusiasm about my interest in the role. Scheduling the initial phone call was straightforward, and they demonstrated flexibility by offering multiple time options that accommodated my availability. The interview with the Director of Security Engineering was a highlight of the process. They exhibited extensive knowledge and provided valuable insights into the role and the company's expectations. Our conversation was engaging and inspiring, which added to my excitement about the opportunity. However, the experience took a downturn during the subsequent stages of the process. Despite the positive initial interactions, the later interview rounds disappointed me. While I appreciated the interviewers' expertise, I received no feedback or follow-up after these interviews. I needed more communication to be made aware of my performance and the outcome of those rounds. Moreover, after waiting for an update on the final decision, I eventually received an email informing me that another candidate had been selected for the position. While this news was disheartening, what bothered me most was the subsequent lack of follow-up. Despite expressing interest in exploring other opportunities within the company, I have yet to receive any communication or further updates from the team. As a candidate, it is disheartening to invest significant time and effort in the interview process only to receive no feedback or follow-up after reaching the final stages. It leaves one with unanswered questions and a feeling of being disregarded. While I cannot speak to the experience of others or the company as a whole, I hope my feedback serves as constructive criticism to improve the candidate experience at EarnIn. Providing timely and constructive feedback to candidates and maintaining communication even after rejection can significantly enhance the overall experience and foster a positive impression of the company. I wish the best to those who continue with the interview process at EarnIn, and I hope that the company considers this feedback for future improvement.
