Emphasized on my research and teaching experience as an undergraduate; as well as my future goals, relevant skills, and achievements and awards. I also expressed interest in working alongside a specific faculty member; I discussed similar research interests and the potential to expand and referenced their published research.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Eastern Michigan University
Interview
Professor knew I was into my field, asked me if I was interested in a research assistant position. I applied through the job portal and professor recommended me. Got the job about a week later and was excited to start.
Was asked to join the research by a faculty member. Accepted and applied through the website, no interview took place because candidates were very few and was chosen based on fit. The process took 10 days.

Easy and Simple. It took 30 mins for the Interview. I was interviewed by my professor. They need to improve their research environment though. Old instruments most of the time very few tech guys knew what is going on.
