Timed take home assignment (3 hours). Didn't require any significant algo/ds knowledge but the question itself was pretty poorly written.. it used acronyms before actually defining them and the simple example they gave wasn't clear in how it mapped to the actual problem.
Also, a large part of the question was just giving basic C# knowledge hints when it would have been a lot more helpful to have had more wording dedicated to clearing up the actual problem itself.
Tbh, I didn't do well on it which is also on me, but the hardest part about it was just trying to understand what they were asking for. Hopefully they will improve the instructions or change the problem for other applicants.

Given some historical bucketed volume data of an asset, estimate the expected end time for an order. Calculate the expected volume using the historical bucketed data provided by calculating a median volume per bucket over a specified lookback period. You should assume volume increases linearly within buckets.
Interviewed for an IT admin position. The interviewer was terrible. Most of the time was spent boasting in a completely unprofessional way. Seems like they would treat you like absolute garbage. Typical old school finance attitude of valuing butt in chair time. RUN AWAY.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Element Capital Management (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
The opportunity was presented to me by a recruiter to interview at Element Capital for their open IT position. The interview was a normal tech interview except for a few trick questions that were thrown in to throw you off. Now I am all for tech questions but when the interview turns from a normal discussion, which it should be, to the interviewer trying to show/prove to you they know more than you, it’s no longer fun. The interview continued with the person I met with bragging about how much IT equipment they had, the huge IT budget they had, about how he did it all himself and then onto how super tight their security was. This was all fun to listen to, then came my questions. When asked how his management style was the response I got was “I like to give people enough rope to hang themselves”. Now I am not sure about you but that doesn’t sound like a real team player to me or a team environment I really want to work in….you decide. The guy also went on to say how everyone in the firm is way wayyy over educated.
