Was contacted by an outside recruiter to interview with the Head of the Legal Department for a Corporate Attorney position with Enersys. When I arrived at the interview, I had a relatively pleasant conversation with the interviewer. We discussed the law generally and discussed our shared experiences - we both had practiced in the same community before focusing on an in-house counsel practice. I was "pumped" for information about shared former acquaintances and colleagues. After about an hour, the interviewer abruptly accuses me of writing excessively long memos (a topic that was never discussed nor was a writing sample provided) and he then abruptly storms out of the room, leaving me to show myself out. As it turns out, although the position was for a transactional attorney, the position was filled by a former litigator who worked at the interviewer's former law firm. For clarity, the position was FILLED when I was "interviewed". Within the year, the interviewer forced the litigator out of the job and sought to refill the position. The position is still open, over a year later and they are now considering "remote workers". The place seems TOXIC. RUN
