I worked at EnerSys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. You get paid weekly.
That is really the only good things about this company and that wasn't enough for me.

    Cons

I was told I would receive proper training for my position. I got to shadow with 2 other coordinators and the entire time they continuted to tell me I would need more training. I was told by my manager and his manager that if I needed additional training to ask. I did and was denied.

Rules changed everyday. Corporate is extremely unresponsive and rude. If you ask a question all they do is tell you to read the handbook, if they respond at all. HR is terrible, I didn't receive my first paycheck until I was there for 4 weeks because HR made up an address even though all of the documentation I submitted had my correct information.

The technicians have gone rogue. They are allowed to do whatever they want and always ignore the schedule set forth for them. My manager had no back bone and talked about giving his manager the keys and leaving almost on a daily basis.

For such a large company they are run poorly from the top down. They don't value their employees and the only way to be successful as a sales or service coordinator is to work 6 days a week and a lot of overtime.

Everyone I encountered had negative things to say about the company and only remined because of the pay.

    Advice to Management

    Train your employees.

Make the people corporate actually do their job and not sit on paperwork for months.

Shift some the the coordinator duties to corporate as the job is too overwhelming.

Get rid of the dead weight techs that constantly have customer complaints and don't follow the rules.

Create a bonus structure for coordinators since they are the only ones in the service center without an bonus program.

I have been working at EnerSys full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

One of the major employers in Reading area
    Decent Corporate facilities

    Cons

Male dominated; essentially no opportunity for women
One of the weakest HR departments I've ever encountered
    Very old, non-progressive mindset

    Advice to Management

Look outside of the core "good ole boys" club when promoting internally. There is A LOT of fat that can be trimmed in the Corporate office. Adopt a program that promotes internal employee growth to help retain some of the talent -- something that cannot be done with current HR group.
