      Nodejs Developer Interview

      Dec 19, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Rājkot, Gujarat
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Enliven (India) (Rājkot, Gujarat) in Nov 2023

      Interview

I applied based on the job description they advertised on their listings. After which I was contacted for initial screening on their working site. The process was straight forward, they asked me some general question and some technical ones. For some of the related technical question, there wasn’t much feedback from the interviewer, so I was taking as general way as possible as they weren’t discussing any of my takes deeper as I used too. I felt I did mostly OK for the most part. At the end, they partly described their requirements for the job and kind of candidate they’re looking for, it was not as same as they advertised on their listing, but I thought it is under my calibre and was interested in doing such work myself. So I explain my self and they arranged a practical interview. So I agreed and want for a second practical interview, this is where my good impression for the company crumbles. For this, I was supposed to complete only one task, but the context was none. Like, the guy that supposed to taking that interview explained the whole task in two sentences and want off. I was taken back for a moment, but being to work with it anyway, though I had not prior experience in such task. The problem was there were no discussions, I was just left unattended to do the task while they were doing their respected work. And when ever I had doubts or thought I had breakthrough, I had to wait so long just to get attention of my interviewer and despite directing me or discuss even for a minute he would tell me “This is how we’re expecting someone to work, So do you think you can do it or not…?” and would ask me to take as much time as I need but the only thing I want from you is the result. At that point, I was started to believe that the interviewer himself might not have any idea how things supposed to work in this context of the task, and he only knows thing through his teams or something. At the end, I got too frustrated and wanted to conclude all of my progress and findings even when I was concluding he had zero attention for it. I wouldn't judge things based on just small interactions, but if this is how they work, I would not have much hope either. I have worked with similar nature companies and despite being competent players on their work, this very trait had worked against them as they grow. But, I do hope better fate for them. NOTE THAT ALL MY OPINIONS ARE ABOUT THE INTERVIEW AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS. I DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER BEHAVIORAL OR PERSONAL ISSUES WITH THEM. At any case, they do seem on paper at least quite competent, and I would wish them better. At the end, I didn’t get much value from the process, and it is beyond my understanding how they’re supposed to get anything out of such process either…
