Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
submitted an application on US Jobs, received an email inviting me to a video interview approximately 5 weeks later for an interview that week. I was interviewed for 1 hour.
- questions about shifting administrative priorities and coping

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
Four interviews, emailed and called references, made me do a timed test, HR rep called and said I should be getting an offer soon, then I was ghosted. Unprofessional and unethical
- Interviewed with multiple people at different times. Standard questions.

I applied online. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
I was told that they would get back to me about the date and time for my interview but I was ghosted. They never responded to any follow up emails.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Chicago, IL
I applied online. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2023
An hour-long interview with a panel of three people. Was asked both technical and standard interview questions. I would recommend thoroughly reviewing the duties that it consists of in prepping for the interview. Lots of time at the end to ask questions, so would definitely prepare some questions for interviewers. The interviewers were very nice and not intimidating at all!
- What experience or formal education do you have with the EPA Clean Water Act?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Denver, CO
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Denver, CO)
Fairly easy. Applied on USAJobs and hear back within about a week of closing. Very straightforward process and transparent, seemed like a good job, but I didn’t want to relocate.
- How would you describe your experience with NIMS ICS?

Anonymous Employee in Chicago, IL
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Chicago, IL)
One ~45 minute interview that was virtual. There was a small interview panel that asked 5-7 very technical questions pertaining to the position I applied for. They asked for my references via email after the interview. I heard back with an unofficial offer roughly 4 weeks after the interview, with an official offer a few weeks after that.
- Explain your experience related to the assessment, planning/design, and implementation of contaminated sediments remediation projects.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Durham, NC
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Durham, NC)
Interview questions are basic, and appropriately geared towards students with less experience in the field. It took a little while to hear back on hiring decisions, however I understand this is the norm with government agencies.
- Why are you interested in this position?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency in Apr 2023
Three staff that each asked general questions such as soft skills, weakness, strengths, etc.. It was an easy process and the interviewers were kind. After the interview because it is a federal process it may take a few weeks minimum.
- Q: Why are you a good fit for this role?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
The process included one round of interviews with a panel of four interviewers who took turns asking different questions. They also gave a great background into what the office does
- Tell me about yourself, what experiences do you have making technical information digestible for a general audience, what are you interested in related to environmental justice, etc.

Anonymous Employee
I applied online. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
One 1-hour video interview with a few people from the team I’d be working with, including my mentor. Asked pretty standard questions—experience and skills used in certain positions, behavioral questions, future goals. Friendly and relatively laidback.
- How will this role fit into your career goals?
