TLDR: Long, bad recruiting practices, really great team interviews.
The first round was with a recruiter who knew very little about the role and how the team was made up, and repeatedly asked me if I would be able to commute at least three times a week.
The second was with a hiring manager who was personable and able to answer questions about the role and the team and seemed to be on my team in a way the recruiter was not.
The third round was a skills test. I spoke with two wonderful writers and reviewed a webpage and gave a general overview of how I would change it.
The fourth round was an all-day interview that started with a presentation and was followed by several 2-on-1 interviews. Most of the people that interviewed me didn't make it to the presentation so I essentially gave it five different times and felt really annoyed by the end of the day. The recruiter showed up for the tour but didn't give it, nor did he feel like an ally or someone I could ask for further details on what was going on.
The recruiter took three weeks to call and tell me they were moving forward with making me an offer. Then he called at the end of the week and rescinded it, saying that some unfortunate things happened and the role wasn't happening anymore. Then I saw that they reposted the role under a slightly different title. The whole process wasted three months.
