Sure. Here's a revised version with a stern, caustic tone, but still measured and not emotional:
---
I had a recruiter screen at Etsy for a Director of Product role following a referral. The conversation with the recruiter went well. While the role was one or two levels below where I'd typically slot in, I was open to the opportunity and engaged in good faith.
After a week or two without an update, I followed up. The recruiter responded that they were pausing on new candidates until the current batch had gone through the process. Fine. Then, weeks later, at 3:50am, I received a generic automated rejection email. No context, no follow-up, no closure.
This was a poor candidate experience. It reflects a level of disorganization and disregard that I guess I should expect from a company like Etsy. If this is indicative of how leadership hires are handled, it’s hard to imagine the bar is any higher internally. It’s disappointing, and it makes it very unlikely I’d consider Etsy as a prospective employer again.
