I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Experian (Costa Mesa, CA) in Sep 2009
Interview
After going through a number of telephone screening interviews with HR, the hiring manager, and a potential peer, I was invited to the Costa Mesa campus. I was flown out and put up in a local hotel by the company at their expense. I met 1:1 with numerous potential peers and eventually my hiring manager face to face. All of the interviews were nice, people were engaging and open. I specifically did research on every one of them and they really seemed to be impressed by the fact that I knew a lot of little things. When I met with my hiring manager, the initial enthusiasm that she had for me over the phone was not there and after a very short meeting, I met one more person and that was it.
After a few weeks delay, I got a call from the manager telling me that I was a fantastic candidate, that I did not make the next cut and I would be kept in mind for other positions. She also went on to say that no candidate was perfect so I remember feeling as if there was no standout candidate. Maybe, maybe not.

Question 1
Describe an experience where you did not agree with an assessment of your work.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Experian in Mar 2026
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter for a Technology leadership role based in Hyderabad and was shared the job description. As the role aligned well with my experience and career goals, I agreed to proceed with the interview process.
The process included a technical discussion with a Principal Architect, followed by interviews with a Senior Director and the Head of Architecture. I also completed an HR behavioral round and an in-person discussion at the office. After completing all rounds, HR collected my current payslips and compensation details.
However, since then, there has been no communication regarding the outcome of the process. Despite multiple attempts to follow up via calls and messages, I have not received any response.
For a leadership role, such lack of communication is concerning. It reflects the culture at Experian TA team and suggests that there is a need for improvement in the Talent Acquisition team’s communication and engagement practices. If this is the experience for senior candidates, it raises concerns about how entry- and mid-level candidates might be treated.

Interview
I spent several months interviewing with members of the team. Then my main contact left the company and one of the interviewers took over as the hiring manager. He then lied to me about the process and that he was making an offer and then got very upset when HR told me the truth that they were making an offer to someone else.
