Fair and Just Prosecution interview questions

A headhunter reached out to me about the position in February. I had not heard of the organization but thought they did interesting work and agreed to be considered. I submitted a formal application. I sat for a panel interview where I met a consultant and a senior member of the FJP team. They indicated they were looking for a director with a fairly traditional approach to communications work. The position seemed a little dry but I agreed to continue on in the process. I then did a skills assessment test that took at least a full business day to complete due to the level of research and detail involved in the assignment. I was asked back for a second panel interview. At that interview, staff indicated they were looking for an innovative communications director who could "think outside the box." This contradicted what I was told in my first interview and felt like a red flag but I decided to stay in the process and sent a thank you letter. This was in March. I didn't hear back from anyone associated with FJP for weeks. In that time, I saw they listed a similar, yet lower-paying position on several job sites. I followed up with the recruiter and got a vague response about the team being "busy" but an assurance that the new position was not a replacement for the one I applied to. In May, I finally received a rejection email. It looks like the other member of the Communications team has left, and I have not seen any indication that they ever filled the director role. It's fine if I wasn't right for the job, but the lack of transparency and constructive communication was a real turn-off. While strategy tests are expected in jobs like this, the scope of this one was truly inappropriate, particularly considering how they ghosted me for two months afterward. My advice to FJP is to remember that candidates are evaluating them just as much as they're evaluating candidates. We're not all interchangeable and we do deserve the dignity of status updates, particularly after putting so much work into the process. They're putting themselves at a real reputational risk by behaving so dismissively towards their candidate pool.
