I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at First Round Capital in Feb 2019
Interview
I had an initial phone screen and then a longer interview a few days later. Both were conducted by phone, which I thought was an odd way to gauge cultural fit.
I was disappointed in how the interview process went. First Round espouses a lot of values about culture and inclusion and making the interviewee feel comfortable during interviews, and not letting ONE interviewer's perspective make the entire decisions , but I'm not sure it practices what it preaches. Both phone interviews were with the same individual, the hiring manager....who did not seem to have any experience in running a job interview. There was never any attempt to start a dialog...the hiring manager's response to all of my answers was "Ok, great." before moving on to the next question. When I asked questions at the end or throughout, the interviewer seemed annoyed and a bit defensive, even saying at one point, "Well, like I told you before....X is how we do things." So disappointed at the closed-off style that I felt emanate during the interview.
Honestly, I felt like I was being interviewed by a robot.

Interview
Interviewed me then ghosted me, ignored all my follow up emails, I understand it’s a lot but it would be respectful to email to say if you’re not hiring me.
