Applied online, received a screening call from HR. First stage interview: Asked to come to office, had to take time out to travel in. Hiring manager was absolutely ill prepared, started the interview without introducing himself, his background or going into the details of the role, team. He didn’t even lay out the structure of the interview. First question: let’s go through your CV. Hiring manager looked out of his depth, no confidence in himself and truly didn’t know what he was looking for. I walked out of the interview knowing I was more than qualified for the job. Irrespective, I received a rejection the next day without any further feedback. I do genuinely believe that they were wasting my time and had already an internal candidate in mind.
