Applied through LinkedIn and was immediately contacted by a recruiter. Spoke with the recruiter for about 30 minutes about my experience and what I'm looking for. Then two days later the manager called and spoke on the phone for about an hour about my experiences, what I'm looking for and how they mesh with company's and department's idea of the position. About a week later went on-site for an interview which was a big waste of time.
Onsite was a three and half hour event. Met with the manager, other team members, another manager and recruiter. They didn't ask questions but spoke more about the company and answered my questions. After the event, the recruiter was not able to give a definite time frame on when I would hear back from them but instead said that they would talk it over. Once everything was discussed and if I were to get chosen, I would have to come back and speak with the Controller, VP and President. Why would I want to go to another 3 hour interview when after the first 3 hour interview they were not able to give me a definite time frame of when I would hear back from them?
