Question 1
Which kind of tasks would you be interested in doing the most?
I applied via Freejam's website for the "Graduate Programmer" role. Shortly after this (five days) I was offered a Skype interview which was to be held a couple of days later.
The interviewer was late by 1 hour and 15 minutes due to the interviewer "losing track of time". The interviewer offered to still conduct the interview which I accepted (being very excited about the position and having prepared for it). The interviewer then asked me if I had been told me about the role to which I replied that I had read about it online when I applied. The interviewer then went on to explain a different role (Graduate Data Analyst) to which I queried and the interviewer said that the role I applied for (Graduate Programmer) had been filled already. I asked if there was a chance of moving on to programming later down the line to which the interviewer replied with a no, saying that they wanted to keep me permanently and train me up.
In conclusion, this was very unprofessional, unorganised and distasteful. Freejam could have at least told me about the position being filled but instead they tried to get me into a career I had no interest in. A big waste of time. After expressing my experience to Freejam they apologised and said they would get back to me (they didn't) and since then the "Graduate Programmer" position has finally been removed from their page.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Freejam (London, England)
Interview
Initial interview to get to know each other than a technical test based on the svelto ecs library developed by them.
I did the test then had another interview in which they said they really liked the result of the test.
After a few technical questions on the test they said that they will like to hire me but that at the moment there weren't any positions open and I should wait untill the release of their game on another platform to see if any positions will open.
Contacted them 2 weeks after the relase and they said they want me to have a face to face interview with them and that they will let me know soon when that will be.
Never heard back from them.
