Thank you for the time that you put into your application, and we're sorry it wasn't a good fit. However, we absolutely do not and never would steal anyone's code. We wouldn't because it's immoral, but we also wouldn't because the code every interviewee writes is completely useless. We give you almost no guidance, no access to our codebase, and 72 hours to write it. It's a great challenge because it separates devs who can learn quickly and code well from those who can't. But even the best devs can't write code that's clean and congruent enough to incorporate it into our codebase in a weekend. It'd be must faster and effective for us to spend 72 hours coding ourselves than stealing code. And we have given every applicant the same challenge for five years... we'd just be stealing the same useless code for the same problem over and over again.
