Round robin of interviews with at least a dozen people, over 2-3 months. Acting as if the position is truly going to be valued and extremely important contribution is expected from the individual taking the role.

Interview
I applied on line and was surprised to hear back within 2 weeks of my application. I did a phone screen with the Hiring Manager and an HR Manager. They were very professional, asked great questions and built a very quick rapport. I was called for a 2nd interview the next week. I went in for an inperson group interview and again met with friendly, intellignet poeple who made the process a breeze.
