I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Dynamics Mission Systems (McLeansville, NC) in Oct 2016
Interview
Applied online, got a phone interview 2 weeks later followed by an in person interview the next week. The in person interview was a day long process where we toured the building and received info sessions about the company and position. The interview portion was intentionally very relaxed and consisted on 3 1-on-1 interviews. The questions asked were mostly about my resume and plans for my future. Only one of the three interviewers asked me any technical questions and they were basic concepts for my background.
I applied online. I interviewed at General Dynamics Mission Systems (Taunton, MA) in Oct 2020
Interview
The interview process took about a moth and a half. I applied online and a few weeks later I got a call for a Zoom 15 minute interview. There we discussed my general interests and how/if I would be a good fit.
2 weeks later, I moved on to the final interviewing stage. It was a 3 hour interview where the first hour was a presentation of what GDMS does, benefits, structure of the program etc.
The two remaining hours were slit into two, one hour interviews. The first interview tackled my Leadership and community services experience(i.e evaluated the leadership aspect of the program). The second interview should have evaluated my Engineering expertise, technical problem solving skills and design experience.
Instead they spent the entire hour asking me questions like "How many ping pong balls fit on a plane". This really turned off my interest to GDMS and even though I was offered other full time positions I chose not to pursue them.

Question 1
How many ping pong balls fit in a Boeing plane?
If you had three baskets, one containing apples, the other one oranges and the third one apples and oranges, how would you find which basket had which by asking only one question given that all baskets were mislabeled? (i.e if the basket had the label oranges, it could have either apples or oranges and apples, but not just oranges).
If a Russian gangster kidnapped you, put two bullets in his/her gun back to back and shot at you once (no bullet was fired) would you rather having him/her fire again or spin the canister first, then fire?
