They invited me a week after I applied for the role. Instead of conducting the 1st interview remotely, they went straight on-site. The interview lasted 2 hours with the Founder and Director and the Employability Coordinator. Throughout the interview, it felt like we were vibing, they asked loads of questions to which I responded positively and in a highly professional manner. They seemed to have liked me and they even made the remark that they wouldn't expect this interview to take up to 2 hours straight. They told me that (since I had applied for another role) I should choose the one that liked and to let them know. I got back to them right after informing them about the role of choice as well as that I wanted to be also considered for the second role in case the choose another candidate for the 1st.
After that, complete silence. I emailed them 2 weeks after, No reply. I called them and then, they got back to me saying that the procedure took longer than expected.
Again, silence for another 3 weeks. I emailed them and they answered after 2 days that they fulfilled the role. I asked them then back about the 2nd and again, silence.
I found out via LinkedIn after 3 weeks that the second role was also fulfilled and I was wondering what the heck went wrong with their comms. I wasted not just 2 hours of my time but also emotionally I felt like a wreck because they weren't following through as they were supposed to. Not to mention that the organization specializes (along with the Employability Coordinator who was on top of the hiring process) in providing employability counseling...I mean, really?
