I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Genesys (Galway) in May 2021
Interview
Seamless and professional experience throughout. Serious sense of energy and optimism during all stages with all staff I was in contact with.
The process is quite lengthy, with multiple interview stages over multiple weeks but I think this is beneficial overall to ensure only the most interested candidates make it to the offer stage. This means for a successful candidate, you'll be working with a lot of like minded and passionate people in tech. Overall there is four interview stages.
- Initial stage with Recruiter.
- "Good-Fit" Interview with team.
- Techincal Interview with team leads.
- HR Interview.
The technical stage is difficult and intense if your not a strong coder or passionate about software dev. The technical stage is a combination of code review + questions on a coding assignment. Followed by a live coding session + questions. Finally a conversation + questions on situational awareness and approach to different problems is carried out. Technical session is about 1.5 to 2 hours long.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe the decorator design pattern in regards to Python and what are common use cases for it in a software application? There was a live code session involved with this, showing the different use cases you describe.
I was contacted by the interviewer by email. She got my email from my Linkedin. We had one interview and then three months after they replied me saying that they have reviewed my application and it will no longer be considered. It was a really nice interview though very conducive environment. It was more like a friend chat and that made me very relaxed and confident.
Straightforward, not too difficult. Feedback was pretty quick. The recruiter got back to me within a week or so. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. To be or not to be?
First round is a general call with recruiter, just chat about your experience and about the role.
Second is a 1hr semi technical interview with hiring manager. Goes over your CV, experience, stuff related to the role.
Third is a Technical take home test.
Fourth and final is a review of technical take home test with Hiring manager and senior devs.
