I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Genpower (Pembroke Dock, Wales) in Aug 2025
Interview
Applied, initially a very professional process - shortlisted 2 weeks later for a first 30 minute remote interview with hiring manager.
Invited following week for a second 1 hour remote interview with hiring manager and their director. At the end of interview salary expectations were discussed and it came to light their maximum range was lower than they had advertised. Working hours were longer than my current role and not a particularly attractive package on offer.
Said they would let me know the following week 'either way' heard nothing so chased a week later, the message was read but I was 'ghosted', two weeks after the second interview and zero feedback - very unprofessional.
In addition there was no full job description. I applied fully remote but also saw it advertised as in person.
I applied online. I interviewed at Genpower in Nov 2022
Interview
I applied for this role back in May 2022. I had a telephone interview and was then invited for a face to face interview. During this interview I was told they were happy to train someone in e-commerce and I should have an update within a week following on from that and it was undecided if they were going to do second interviews. 2 weeks went by I received no updates and saw the job readvertised so queried wether I had been unsuccessful. I was told the job was readvertised due to miscommunication and received an apology. 3 weeks after my interview I was told recruitment was paused across all departments and I was informed I was the front runner for the role and asked if my details could be kept for when they recruit at a later date as I had already passed the interview. I agreed to this. I then discovered my friend was approached on Facebook and was asked to apply for the role despite recruitment being on hold and me being the alleged front runner. My friend applied not realising I had already been interviewed and never heard from them again. Fast forward to November 2022. The role was readvertised so I got in touch I was asked to attend a second interview. During my second interview I was informed that there were 2 front runners for the role and one had already been employed after just 1 interview back in the summer when again recruitment was halted. I was also informed this was not the normal process and that they usually carry out a telephone screening and face to face interview. My interviewer was apologetic and it all seemed positive. He even gave me his direct e-mail and I was assured I wouldn’t be asked to attend any further interviews. A week went by...no updates. I e-mailed HR requesting one and I didn’t get a response for 4 days. I then saw the job readvertised again. I finally received a phone call after the job was posted informing me my feedback was positive but they hired a candidate with e-commerce experience. The job is still live now. I was asked if I would like to be kept in a talent pool. I declined as I had felt lead on and messed around by this company. I know of others who have had similar experiences to mine. My experience hasn’t left me with the best impression of this company and I won’t be applying for any other roles in the future.
First of all, human resources called me. They then gave a date for the technical interview. In this interview, they asked some technical questions and said they would evaluate and inform.
