I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gensler (Ciudad de Mexico) in May 2018
Interview
I applied for the position through the website and they gave me an appointment with the boss named Antonio. This person asked me very few questions and rather he dedicated himself to talking about him and his history in the company. I thought it was very presumptuous, and it gave me the feeling that I was an arrogant boss. I think they are looking for people of a low level to whom they can easily exploit.
I do not want to work with these types of people.
I applied online. I interviewed at Gensler (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Worst interview during my job search. Started with discussing my interests, experience and strengths in detail with recruitment staff. Great—super helpful and promising. Then an email telling me who I’d be interviewing with (workplace lead, managing director, etc). Come the day of the interview managing director introduces herself and mentions that she looked over my portfolio (probably for 5 min max) and decided that I do not do workplace projects, ignored the judgement of their HR staff (this was immediately a huge red flag for me) and invited the hospitality team. I do not do hospitality and have no interest in it. My portfolio was full of workplace projects. But they were slightly unusual, boundary pushing projects, not the corporate cookie cutter spaces pushed by Gensler—maybe that was her mistake? Anyway, the interview also went horribly because they could not understand that I was interested in the *whole* process and not just one tiny siloed corner. Difficulty was only average because it was so frustrating—otherwise it was easy.

Question 1
What part of the process was your favourite? But if you only had to choose one? (Variations over and over)

Interview
I submitted thru the website and call in order to follow up with my interest in Gensler. Then I had a 40min in place, interview with the Principal, a Guy named Antonio. I really did not like this person. He was very pretentious, He started bragging about his own career history and how successful he has been. To be honest, I felt he was looking for a younger person, maybe, someone around 25 years old he could boss around. I conclude he felt somehow threatened.
