I interviewed at Global Experience Specialists

Interview

One hours after I sent my CV I was called by a recruiter wanting to schedule a call with the Head of HR right away. The interview was scheduled for the day after and it went quite well until we ended up talking where I am based. The position was supposed to be remote and that´s the reason why I applied. Despite the position being advertised as remote, I have been asked whether I could spend a couple of weeks at the headquarters of the country where I´m living, since "it´s always nice to work directly with people, and the team is mid-aged so they are not quite comfortable with remote work". At this point I said that spending some days there would be fine, but I am not willing to relocate or working regularly there as it is quite far from my city . From there the interviewer started to quickly wrap up the conversation and concluded saying that she would be in touch asap. I haven´t heard anything back after 2 weeks even if I asked for a status update. I found the conversation quite improvised from her side and I don´t think it is professional to make applicants feel guilty because they don´t want to relocate (when applying for a remote position!)

Publicis Health

I recently received an offer from iProspect (part of Dentsu) I’ve heard ups and downs about this company. I currently work for a great company and not sure if I should leave. The new opportunity pays a lot more than I currently make. Does anyone have any advice about this company and whether I should take the job or not?

Very straight forward interview process, met with 2 Senior Operations Managers and they discussed the job and the duties and my previous experience in the industry. Basic information regarding if I had issues working with union labor, being on my feet for extended periods of time, working in loud environments, etc.

Interview Questions
  • Asked about my experience in the tradeshow industry.

Interview

Short - the interviewer lowballed me on the available salary, then reminded me that the position is considered part-time, despite an expectation of 40+ hours a week. The interviewer hypothesized the position is coded as part-time for 'budgetary' reasons - despite IRS guidelines defining full-time employment as more than 30. I also notice that GES' website states clearly that full-time employees are eligible for benefits. The interview ended shortly thereafter.

They found my CV online and called me to see if I was interested on this position, I was a bit over with my previous job so I said yes. Then she gave me a date and time if I was available to do attend the Interview. I come to the interview, manager was on time, it was myself, my line manager and another colleague. We went over the job description, what would I have to do if I got the job etc. It was quite easy questions, they were very nice people and my experience fitted perfectly with the job. After a week HR called me to offer me the job and I said yes.

It was a little unconventional. I felt they were trying to see if I could function properly under pressure. First the phone with a recruiter. Than a 1:1 with the manager then a group meeting with the rest of the team.
