I applied to their position mid June, and was tasked with an assignment at the end of June. After a week, I followed-up but was told that hiring managers were still deciding, without a definite timeline given.
I received a call a month later in early Aug to set up an interview. Interview went ok. The company has interns work for six months to be considered for a full-time position if a position is open. I asked about career progressions as an intern converting to full-time eventually, and salary range for positions, but was told to speak to HR to find out more.
A week later, I was offered a position - BUT I was told I had to respond by 3pm *the next day* otherwise the offer would expire. HR also said that information on salary ranges for full-time positions were private and confidential, even though these are important bits of information for interns to consider, especially if they are looking at long-term prospects.
I didn't appreciate the pressure tactic to sign the contract, or the lack of transparency within the application. Especially for those who are new to applying to jobs, their processes felt disingenuous.
Left a bad taste in my mouth. Understanding it's a startup, I hope they can review their processes to make it more pleasant for applicants.
