I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs in Oct 2014
Interview
Interview Process itself began with completing an online application process. I did also seeking out current firm employee in my professional network to see if anybody would take a look at my resume. I was contacted by a Human Capital Management Division employee via email day 2 weeks after online submission, and was ultimately told that I would be phone interviewed (This may apply to any federation job based out of Salt Lake City, and really seems to depend upon if the department you are interviewing is willing to spend the money to interview you in person or not) for 2 hours by 4 different employees every 30 minutes/ conference call. The phone interview took place 3 weeks after being contacted by the HCM division, and the decision to hire or not was made within 2 weeks after the interview.
I had a mixed feeling about the interview itself. There were friendly interviewers who was obviously sympathetic to the fact that the candidates are aware of the potential opportunities/ firm's rep/ general interview gitters. But at the same timer, other interviewers were less than friendly right off the bat as they came on to the phone. I literally had one who took a huge sigh as answering the phone with a negative tone even before you had a chance to introduced yourself.
Best of luck to those out there reading this review to prepare for your own interview!!!
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Typical Behavioral questions (the Let's get to know you ones) Why Compliance?
The interview was very smooth and easy, there were multiple rounds with difference teams across compliance, heard back the next day and accepted the offer. They had half technical and half behavioral questions
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe previous experience in compliance and how can you apply it here
basic behavioral questions. interviwers were nice. superday was basic, 3 rounds and were back to back. asked a lot of basic questions but felt like a conversation rather than an interview.
I was scheduled with two interviews on very short notice (24hrs).
The first was with two individuals with one being a VP. The interview was over zoom not over teams. They seemed very intrested in what I had to say and were engaging throughout the interview.
