I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2017
Interview
I had a phone call with the recruiter and hiring manager. Answered several questions on the phone about process and experience. After the call they asked me to complete an unpaid homework assignment. This assignment took about a week to do. After submitting the work, I received a generic decline letter.
I know this is a very competitive job, but I don’t understand why they think it is acceptable to ask for a week of unpaid work from a candidate without giving any explanation on their decision. In my opinion they should revise their interview process.
I had 3 rounds total. 1st round was with HR, with the remaining rounds being with the Head of Product and the tech teams. The last round was the hardest, as I had to do a portfolio review
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Google (Bengaluru)
Interview
3 rounds of tech discussion which I cleared with a positive feedback but suddenly recruiter disappeared and when I reached out for further rounds she mentioned that they have got a internal candidate for this position. Never thought Google will be such an unprofessional organisation.
I didn't make it to the interview part of the process. I highly recommend knowing someone or going through an actual recruiter if you'd like a job at Google. Cold applying online is harder to to secure a job.
