I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Granite Homes (Guelph, ON) in Dec 2017
Interview
Pre-screen online questionnaire first. One week later I was contacted via e-mail for an in-person interview with HR and a VP. It was a quick 25-30 minute interview. I was then contacted one week later for another in-person interview with the same people plus a manager. This interview was a bit of a waste of time (another 30 minutes), in that it was a repetition of most of the questions from the first interview with a few additional tasks (looking through logo designs and choosing one).
Overall, I got a sense that they didn't know what they were looking for -web designer, marketing specialist, graphic designer, event planner and social media coordinator- all under an assistant position?
They seem to have a great company culture and had a lot of cool office events while I was there. The office is brand new and gorgeous, although tucked away behind a residential area where my GPS couldn't find it. I definitely would have appreciated a heads up about that. I found the receptionist to be a delight however HR was somewhat lacking, sending me one sentence e-mails. In my experience HR will tell you who you're interviewing with, but she would only ever say to ask for HR. She also took a month to let me know what was happening with the position, and only after I followed up. I did appreciate that she eventually let me know.
