I applied online for their position. When I was called by the firm, I was told the firm had wanted to expand another office . The in-person interview consisted of the regional director and the mechanical engineer in the office. I did not get to tour that office.
The second interview consisted of a phone interview with another one of their engineering offices. I was told that the first interviewer of the initial office which I interviewed with wanted to hire me as a contract worker instead of the full time position they had advertised. This was a bait and switch. The men in the interview told me a candidate from anther office had just transferred to the second office for the position. They had to figure out whether to hire two people or one person for that office. They asked questions like how many tennis balls could fit inside a 737. Made me think they were trying to imitate a tech company.
Folks, how do you forget you hired someone for your office? This is another tactic of the bait and switch. If this is how they recruit, I can only imagine how their work environment is - which I believe is very bad.
