Healthcare Improvement Scotland interview questions

I was asked to do a presentation and then was asked a series of about five or six competency-based questions related to project delivery, people management, chairing meetings and dealing at a strategic level with senior stakeholders

I applied online. Application form was simple enough. I was then invited to an interview where I had to give a 5 minute presentation followed by 6 interview questions. I was only told about the presentation topic and was given no information as to the format of the interview which I found unusual as all other organisations I interview with provide this information in advance. I was not successful but I wasn't too impressed with the company anyway. I still asked for feedback and I was given ridiculous reasons for being unsuccessful. Firstly, that I did not have health or social care experience - they knew that already from my application form so why bother inviting me to interview?! They clearly haven't heard of transferable skills and are recruiting from a very small pool and not recognising the value that outside knowledge, skills and experience can bring. Secondly that it was a competency interview and that I didn't display the required competencies - they didn't TELL me it was a competency interview nor did they tell me in advance or even on the day what competencies they'd be assessing me against. I did prepare for the concept of a competency based interview. Also they said that I did not give answers regarding information gathering for strategic planning- but they didn't ask me any questions along these lines! I found the organisation's recruitment and selection process to be really poor and there was also a real lack of information provided anywhere on their website as to what they are like as an employer and non salary benefits. Really poor experience and clearly untrue interview feedback. I strongly believe that I was only there for box ticking. Whilst I knew almost immediately it was not the role for me, I'm really at the feedback provided, the waste of my time and the lack of information provided in advance regarding the interview format or the organisation as a place to work. I strongly strongly encourage HR to improve their recruitment process.
