I had an initial phone interview talking over the basics of this position and relating it to my previous experiences, finishing it saying they’ll reach back out again in two weeks for a second interview. Two weeks past and I scheduled a second interview through Zoom. This second interview was unlike any interview I’ve ever had and I loved the experience. Two people at a time in the front office had the chance to speak to me about my experience, baseball in general, and a bunch of random icebreaker questions. It ended up being an hour and a half long, but sure went so fast! I reached out to everyone in the office the very next day, thanking them for the great experience and the opportunity. I wasn’t so surprised to hear from anyone because I wasn’t necessarily going to be working with each of them, but I really genuinely liked talking to everyone and know small office chemistry is essential in MiLB! A couplva days went by heading into the weekend and I hadn’t heard from the direct point of contact. Which, fine, they probably had to do this process with each second round candidate, so I gave it some more time. Two weeks past, I pen an email asking politely where they are in the interview process, and nothing, no response. It’s now been nearly a month since the second interview and I’m disappointed I’ve still heard nothing, which is ultimately why this out of the ordinary experience became such a negative one. Not only is it incredibly disheartening to be ghosted, it’s quite childish to do in my opinion. Again, it was such a great experience and even if they selected another candidate, I would’ve been so grateful for the different experience. I’m reaching out in hopes someone working there sees this review and changes this.
