Hillcrest Convalescent Center interview questions

I was supposed to interview for two positions on the same day, Concierge and Activities Assistant. Upon arriving I was told the person who I was supposed to meet with for AA was on an outing with residents and wouldn't be there. No further explanation. At my interview for Concierge I was told it was an every other weekend job with some four hour days in-between, occurring irregularly, meaning not the same days each week. I was asked general questions, with two other women present. Only one of the women's roles was made clear. During the interview the person conducting it verbally asked me my date of birth, claiming it would be for a background check. I answered but in retrospect realize I should not have. I was not given anything to put in writing about my date of birth. Upon speaking with two Human Resource professional friends, both stated that I should never ever have been asked my date of birth. The person I was to interview with for the AA position never contacted me beforehand that she would not be able to meet with me. After my Concierge interview, I was never contacted to reschedule this interview. Completely unprofessional and would not consider working here after this experience.
