First, they ask to introduce yourself. Next, they will ask you why you applied to Hitachi. Then, they will specifically ask why you applied for the specific department and research group you selected. Then, they'll ask you a question about what big social issue (e.g., behavioral change, Japan population decline) you want to resolve and how in your past experience, you managed to resolve problems that contribute to that big social issue. Lastly, they'll ask you to give a presentation of your research.

Initial phone interview with HR. Second round of interview with the team manager, talked about my experiences and project planning and management aspects. Final round was research presentation and discussion with entire team.

The interview process started with online entry-sheet registration. Next, I participated in Job and Company introduction and had an entry interview. After passing the entry interview, they will allow you to choose 2 research fields to have the interviews. This called field matching interview with 2 rounds. The 1st field matching interview, you will be asked to summarise your background, research experiences. The 2nd field matching interview will be similar but at the research centre with working team.
