I worked at Hitachi full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    have decent pay and benefits

    Cons

Leadership lies to you, and will make it sound great. Managers don't care about life balance except their own. No upward mobility. The best you can hope for is get some experience and move on.

    Advice to Management

hire more field service people to spread the workload

I worked at Hitachi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    >Heath, wellness, 401K and bonus
    >Flexible Work Hours
    >Great people (the one's who actually do the work) Not the leadership.....

    Cons

    >Lack of vision and strong 5 year roadmap.
    >Too much transformation, for waaayyyy too long. The company is still addressing an acquisition from 3+ years ago and has lay offs quarterly.
    >Lack of direction and clarity of focus on current product development as well as new development and investment dollars.
    >Lack of promotion and raises.
    >Culturally, the company is in too much flux for teams to be focused and productive to drive.

    Advice to Management

Get a direction. Communicate it. Stick to it.

Provide greater opportunities to current employees who desire growth and career progression. You're losing the productive, strong employees because they are not valued and rewarded. Especially during all this turmoil.

Implement annual employee review process and ensure greater HR accountability.

Be cautious: GE is not doing well as a company and replacing Execs with GE personnel will not ensure growth or progress. Greater diversity within leadership is desperately needed!

I worked at Hitachi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None that I can speak of. It was a horrible experience.

    Cons

I worked for a staffing company and I was placed with a blond haired black woman team lead for Hitachi that would not talk are help me with learning my job. She seemed like she had it in for me. I asked her one day how to do something and she told me Quote "Don't you know how to read" etc, etc, She would talk to me any kind of way around other employees. They ran in packs, so I was forced to resign. It's a bad place to work.

    Advice to Management

Teach Donna how to talk to people, she has done this to many times running off people that she does not like. We have families as well. I went to Management and they told me I could not be moved to a new station.
