I have been working at Hitachi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Engineering management is well connected to their employees. They realize where the deficiencies are, and they do everything in their power to work around them. The benefits, compared to every other company I have worked for, are excellent. Salaried employees can come and go as they please, as long as your work is getting done.

    Cons

Somewhat high turnover rate. Most of their systems are archaic, and nothing is integrated. The level of managerial review needed to make any decision is a bit over the top. Major decisions (like equipment replacement) can take years. Extremely slow-moving.

    Advice to Management

Update your drawing and file sharing systems to the 21st century. Develop real procedures. Streamline cumbersome processes.

I worked at Hitachi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of hours if you want them.

    Cons

Too many hours. The work schedule is 66+ hours a week! The employees are being worked to death. The management has no clue what they're doing. The management makes too many costly mistakes. People are being wrongfully fired. The employees are being injured due to exhaustion. Old machines that constantly break down. If you have no life, want to make sometimes $1000 bi-weekly, don't value your health, and don't mind the threat of being fired constantly, this is the job for you!!

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves!
