I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Holibrook House (London, England)
Interview
I had a call from this company that they found my CV and asked me if I was interested in this position. We talked for around 30 minutes on the phone as they ask a lot of questions, like:
What is your experience, what do you like about fashion, what languages do you speak, have you been away from the country for 6 months or longer in the past5 years, if you are independent or like working in a team,… I have a experience in fashion retail including luxury, but not personal shopping, which I mentioned, but they said it’s ok as I have experience, good education, language skills and they provide all the training. So in the end I was booked for a face to face interview in a week’s time. That very day after the call I received an email with time, date of the interview, short information about the job and they asked to send photo and copy of a passport for temporary pass which I did immediately. Then around 3 days before the interview, I receive another email from different person stating different time of the interview, so I emailed back asking what time is the interview gonna be, as first email said another time. They replied me and again 3d time – different time of the interview! So I messaged back to clarify it and they replied that they mixed the interview times so last email was the right time. And asked me to send photo and copy of a passport for temp pass, what I already did a week ago when received the first email. I found it all disorganized and unprofessional but sent all the docs again. The next day I arrived but the meeting place at Heathrow airport that was pointed in the email, but it the problem was that it changed the name some time ago, but in their email old name was mentioned not the current new one! I only found it cause I asked the person who works at Heathrow and he said that the place changed the name. I called the phone number from the email but there was a voice mail. No one at information desk or this meting place knew anything about the company, and since it was already past the time of the interview, I thought it was a con and wanted to go home. But suddenly the person from this company appeared so we went to the group interview. On the way we found out that they were recruiting for awhile and had interviews every week but no one of the candidates was successful. So I didn’t have a lot of expectations. And they tell you if you will go to the next interview straight after the group interview. Group interview last for around hour they tell about company ask you know anything about it, you have to stand and give presentation about yourself. They ask you for references for the last 5 years and DBS and it all costs £ 800 so if you got the job and leave it within 18 months you have to pay them back. They also ask you to do maths and listening test. And after 10 minutes you know if you are to continue to individual interview. I was told I wasn’t successful because of not enough experience. But I don’t understand why then to call and say that they like you cv and you have experience and they give full training. If they think that they recruit the most experienced people with best skills and whatever then this whole messed up interview process with their confused data and disinformation proves it!
